The Revitalization of Kennedy Street Project will extend from Georgia Avenue to North Capitol Street. The project falls within Ward 4 neighborhoods of Brightwood and South Manor Park.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
Design and construction components of the Revitalization of Kennedy Street project include:
- Sidewalk and curb and gutter improvements, consisting of:
- New brick and paver sidewalks from Georgia Avenue to North Capitol
- New ADA compliant wheel chair ramps at crosswalks
- New granite curbs
- Upgraded street lighting
- Improved corridor amenities - benches, bike lockers and trash receptacles
- Reconstruction of signalized intersections
- Missouri/ Kansas/ Kennedy
- 2nd/ Missouri
- New trees and landscaping
- New drainage and storm water structures
- DC Water Green Infrastructure (GI) improvements, Kennedy Street (100 block)
- Repaving (asphalt) of Kennedy Street
To improve storm water management and existing vegetation and architectural elements, the project includes several green infrastructure features:
- Permeable sidewalk pavers
- Landscape Planters
- Bioretention areas
- Pervious Pavement
